Re: My attitude to student engagement

In Poland there is a lot of children and teenagers that hate school! I think it is because our educational program is full of useless things, theory and not important data. They are really tired and they have a lot of homework! After “normal” school they have to go to many additional lessons (sport, music, languages) and they don’t see the pleasure in learning. I think that is really sad. The main reason for that is often not the need to assure better education for children but parents want to have free hours for themselves.

My attitude to student engagement
by Olga Zinovieva - Saturday, 13 January 2018, 10:39 PM

For me it is definitely one of the most important things. I try to make sure  that all my students are participating that they all are having a good and efficient time. I just can't imagine my students are daydreaming or chatting online... I do my best to involve them appealing to their interest in the forst place. I work as an after school teacher in additional education center and I would like to see my students less exhausted and demotivated by boring and long school lessons.

Do most students hate school in your countries as much as in Russia?
