Introduction
We are committed to protecting your privacy and providing
users with a safe and functional personal learning and
development environment. This Statement of Privacy applies to
the Moodle for Teachers (M4T) site and
governs data collection and usage.
Collection of personal information
By registering on Moodle for Teachers you will be required
to provide us with a certain amount of personal information such
as your email. We will not disclose any of your personal
information to any other person or organisation without your
written consent unless authorised or required by law.
Google Meet for
Moodle
Google Meet for Moodle is a Moodle plugin. Google
requires that Moodle for Teachers to set up a verification process
because of Sensitive Scopes such as Google Drive and Google
Calendar, but no Google user information is accessed, stored,
shared, or used in any way by Moodle for Teachers with a third
party or anyone else.
Moodle for Teachers does not have access to users Google drive or
Google calendar. Teachers can schedule and give Google Meet meeting
in their courses. Google drive information for creating or for
watching the recording videos will not be accessed. Google drive
and Google calendar information is only available to the user who
created the meeting.
A calendar is available to enable teachers to set the Google Meet
meetings, but their calendars will not be accessed or viewed by
anyone not even them. Google Meet for Moodle plugin does not
disclose, store, or share any Google user data.
Google
Meet for Moodle Plugin (API) uses 2 Sensitive Scopes for the
following purpose that does not infringe on your privacy
1. https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events
- To create an event on the calendar and link a Google Meet room
to the event. The app developers needs to write to create an
event on the calendar and link a Google Meet Room to the event so
that his application can store the url of the Google Meet room.
No one but you the user will be able to access your Google
calendar.
2. https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive
- The developer of Google Meet for Moodle needs you (the user of
the Google drive account) to be able upload, download, update,
and delete files in your own Google Drive. To create, access,
update, and delete native Google documents from your own
individual Google Drive. To manage files and documents in your
own Google Drive (e.g., search, organize, and modify permissions
and other metadata, such as title). No one else will be able to
access your own Google drive.
Cookies
In order to use Moodle for
Teachers, you must have cookies enabled within your
browser. Please note that no personal information is stored
within the cookies used in Moodle for Teachers.
A cookie is a data file that is placed on your computer by
a web page server. Cookies are not programs, spyware or viruses
and are unable to perform any operation by themselves.
How we use your personal information
We will only use your personal information for the purpose
for which you provided it to us.
As Moodle for Teachers (M4T) users you are able to
determine what personal information you make available to others.
By default, unless assigned administrator or staff access rights,
a user may only view your display name (or name if you have not
chosen / could not choose a display name) and your default
profile picture. This includes listings within a notification
report or visitor log.
We may also collect system usage for statistical purposes.
However this data will not identify any individual.
Storage and security of your personal information
We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that any
personal information we hold is not subject to loss or misuse or
unauthorised access, disclosure or alteration.
In order to help protect your personal information, please
do not disclose your username or password to any person.
Changes to this privacy statement
We may occasionally make adjustments to our privacy
statement to reflect changes to the system and in response to
customer feedback. As such we suggest you check the privacy
statement each time you visit this site.
